A bird is born to fly, a fish is born to swim and a human being is born to achieve something great in life. But the biggest question arises as to how many of them really use their true potential to create something extraordinary in life?
When UPSC results came out, several success stories are being shown on social media. But this story is quite inspiring. Total of 759 candidates were picked up for the posts like IAS, IPS and IAF. Amongst these candidates was Sumit Vishwakarma who has surprised everyone with his result.
If you come to know the story of Sumit, you will be perplexed for sure. Sumit hails from a very humble family, he would work as a Mason. Mason is the one who lays bricks and makes homes. Yes, you heard it right- he used to work as a labourer in the scorching sun throughout the day to earn ₹200 a day.
Father, thereafter, started working at construction sites as a mason. Around 9 years ago, Sumit too realised the need for money to fulfil dreams, he too started working along with his father, as a labourer.
He realized the importance of Indian Civil Services and took a firm decision to prepare for the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams. While he worked as a labourer at sites during the day, he studied for hours during the nights. He continued his struggle for 9 years and eventually managed to secure All India Rank 53. He has become an IAS officer.
As per media reports, he would study till 2-3 o’clock at night. His wife is still not able to believe that her husband has become a DM.
The Youth team congratulates him on his splendid success.
