In yet another sad news coming from the Indo-Pak border, an Indian soldier was killed on Thursday after Pakistan allegedly breached ceasefire along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, as reported by PTI. The 24-year-old soldier by the name of Yash Paul died in ceasefire violation according to ANI.
Some anonymous defence officials said Pakistani troops resorted to open firing on the forward posts in Pallanwala, Jogwan and Keri areas in Sunderbani sector, AIR reported. Indian and Pakistani security forces exchanged gunfire.
This is the second time that a soldier got killed in ceasefire violations this week in Rajouri district. Previously, on Monday, a soldier was martyred and three other people were injured when Pakistani soldiers fired across the LoC in Rajouri district.

“The Pakistan ceasefire violation started early on Thursday morning. One soldier sustained critical injuries in the shelling and succumbed to the injuries. Our positions are effectively retaliating,” an official said.
Pakistani soldiers have allegedly breached the ceasefire over 110 times along the LoC since January, as reported by PTI. The confrontation increased after India claimed to have launched an air strike on a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot, Pakistan, on February 26 in response to the February 14 Pulwama terror attack that eliminated 40 CRPF personnel.
