Visualisation is a big part of one’s life and Garima Yadav wants to share with others about how visualisation can make a huge difference in one’s life. Garima’s story is one that needs to be told to inspire girls across the nation.
Garima Yadav won the pageant in November 2017 and was in fact selected for the next pageant at international level, which was to be held in Italy, but Garima Yadav chose to join OTA Chennai instead. It was when her career took a big U-turn as she dreamt of becoming an Army officer.
From ‘India’s Miss Beauty Pageant’ to becoming an Army officer to represent the nation with pride, Lieutenant Garima Yadav has had a wonderful journey. The former beauty pageant winner broke the stereotypes after she successfully cracked the CDS (Combined Defence Services) exam in her maiden attempt itself where she got into OTA (Officer’s Training Academy) Chennai. “I am a single mother-child, and she has been there for me in all my ups and downs, motivating me, she’s a strong woman and my true inspiration I just wanted to make her proud.”
“I am from army public school Ddagshai (Shimla) and did BA Economics from St Stephen’s College, New Delhi. I was preparing for civil services, but I guess army was my true calling,” Lt. Garima said while talking to SSBCrack.
“You just should be willing to accept your weaknesses and work on them. One should always endeavour to get better and better every day. One should be honest, positive, creative and solution orientated — that’s all you need rest everything will follow,” she adds.
Garima Yadav’s journey to success is well and truly inspiring and has set a new milestone for other girls across the country to follow suit.
