Goa Assembly Speaker ‘Pramod Pandurang Sawant’ will take oath as the new CM of a BJP-led coalition government on Monday evening by Governor Mridula Sinha, a senior BJP leader added in a statement.
Sawant, who will be the 11th CM of Goa will succeed his mentor Manohar Parrikar, who passed away on Sunday evening after he lost a battle with pancreatic cancer. The last rites of Parrikar were held on Monday evening with full state honours.
According to India Today, Pramod Sawant to be sworn in as Goa CM at 11 pm today. “The BJP had finalised Sawant’s candidature last night. But we only managed to convince alliance partners today (Monday) evening in the presence of our national President Amit Shah and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. He will be sworn in as Chief Minister later today,” said the BJP leader who did not want to be identified.

Two MLAs from the BJP alliance partners will be made deputy CMs as part of the agreement reached with allies, they added in a statement.
The two would-be Deputy Chief Ministers are Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai and MGP MLA Sudin Dhavalikar.
“We have managed to convince the alliance partners and finalised the formula of two deputy chief ministers for the state,” a senior BJP functionary added in a statement.
The swearing in ceremony is expected to be held at 9 pm Monday, he said.
