Just 3 days after the Pulwama terror blast, at least 11 soldiers were killed while 12 others were injured in a dastardly suicide attack on Pakistan Army convoy near Balochistan, which is one of the four provinces of Pakistan. It is also the largest province in terms of land area and thereby forming the southwestern region of the country
As per a report in The Balochistan Post, BRAS have claimed total responsibility for the suicide attack between Turbat and Panjgur, on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route. The unexpected attack happened hours before Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman arrived in Pakistan.
BRAS means Baloch Raji Ajoi Sangar, an alliance of three Baloch pro-freedom organisations namely Baloch Liberation Army, Balochistan Liberation Front and Baloch Republican Guard.
The report quoted Baloch Khan, the spokesperson for BRAS, as saying that their fighters had attacked the Pakistani security forces patrolling team including the camp simultaneously on Sunday morning on CPEC route between Panjgur and Turbat city.
The incident comes in the wake of increased tensions in the sub-continent following the suicide attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where a 20-year-old youth rammed an explosives-laden SUV into a convoy of CRPF, killing 40 CRPF paramilitary troopers and injuring 38 others.
While India lost at least 44 CRPF jawans to a massive terror attack executed by Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Thursday, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards criticised “Pakistan’s security forces” of backing the executors of a suicide bombing that killed 27 of its troops on Wednesday. Iran too is ready to take revenge on Pakistan.
