A video which is repeatedly doing the rounds on social media depicts a pornographic video clip being played on a big screen inside a reputed IKEA store. What was even terribly awkward was that the clip was played in front of the children and families. IKEA’s act is deemed contrary to the spirit of human values. As per a report, the video was played in the IKEA in Hong Kong store.
The video that displayed a man masturbating was watched by a customer, Chan, for around 3 minutes who then immediately notified the IKEA staff members later. “It’s a public holiday today, there were lots of people in the area, and it scared a lot of the children walking by,” Chan was quoted by Mirror.
After the staff was notified regarding the same, a woman attempted to cover the screen with a big piece of paper but it didn’t pan out well. So they switched off the screen and then unplugged it.
However, even now, it is still not clear how the clip popped up and started playing. But the IKEA members believe that an anonymous might have hacked into their system. IKEA, later apologised for the incident which happened by mistake.
This shocking incident might have happened in Hong Kong but there might still be a possibility that this could happen to IKEA’s branches elsewhere too. IKEA needs to be extra careful from next time onwards and prevent such incidents from happening.
