Statue of Unity’ which is located in Gujarat is an epic bronze sculpture measuring 600 feet (182m). It was designed and built in 33 months at a whopping cost of Rs.2,989 crore. Statue of Unity of Sardar Vallabhbai Patel was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi on October 31 on the leader’s birth anniversary.
There is no hiding to the fact that the Statue of Unity has become an instant hit as close to 27,000 tourists visited the spot on November 10 alone. In good news for tourists, they can enjoy and experience an aerial view of the giant statue in a helicopter, a service which was inaugurated on Sunday.
As per the media reports, the helicopter ride is available for just 10 minutes at a price of Rs 2,900. A group of 5-7 persons can take the ride at a given time. According to the website details, the overall ticket price excluding the bus fare is Rs 1000. The statue that is built at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore is a sensational hit. The helicopter ride has been undertaken by 59 visitors and 6 media persons, NDTV reported.
The wonderful service has been initiated to provide the tourists with a panoramic view. A visitor can catch a glimpse of an aerial view of the Sardar Sarovar Dam, Narmada River followed by Satpura and Vindhya hills. According to the sources, nearly 15,000 visitors (on an average) turn up to visit the statue every day.
