Bajrang Dal’s district head, a BJP youth wing member and a VHP worker were booked on Tuesday for murder of police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh during Monday’s mob violence in west Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr. The angry mob chased the officer’s car and shot him yesterday in riot thaa t broke out after the cow corpse were found scattered in a forest in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.
Bajrang Dal’s Yogesh Raj, the main accused who had complained about ‘cow slaughter’ is missing since 4 pm on Monday. He has been booked for murder and attempt to murder under the sections 302 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code along with various sections of arson and ruining public property.
So far, around 4 persons have been arrested for the violence, where another youngster identified as Sumit was also murdered during police’s retaliatory firing. He was named in the FIR with 27 others and there are 60 unnamed individuals also.
Apart from Yogesh Raj, the others who are named in FIR are BJP youth wing member Shikhar Agrawal and VHP member Upendra Raghav. “We will arrest more people today and will gather more evidence. The SIT team that has been formed is looking closely into the matter,” said Prashant Kumar, ADG, Meerut Zone.
In a video uploaded by News18, there were the last visuals of Bulandshahr main accused Yogesh Raj, who was traced at a wedding ‘firing a gun. The accused is fleeing the scene was caught on camera triggering violence ahead of the mass disturbance. The video is doing the rounds on social media.
