It was only two days after a dog carried an severed leg of a patient in the Buxar Sadar hospital and now a giant pig hit the headlines for a shocking reason as it was seen running with a newborn’s body in its jaws at the Sadar hospital at Saharsa.
According to the Hospital sources, a stray pig entered the hospital with a baby’s body that was lying in a compound close to the hospital premises. People tried their maximum best to stop the animal, but it escaped into the forest along with the body.
Saharsa sadar hospital’s deputy superintendent Dr Anil Kumar told a reporter over the phone on Thursday the ‘unclaimed baby’ was of a two-day-old and it was lying outside the hospital premises.
“The pig with the body between its jaws was first seen outside the hospital. Vested interests drove the pig through the hospital premises just to malign the hospital and its security arrangements,” Dr Kumar claimed.
The Saharsa DM ordered an inquiry by SDO Shambhu Jha. While on a visit to the hospital, Shambhu Jha defended the hospital management but told a different story to the newsmen. He said the huge pig had dug the body out of a ditch close to the school.
