Ashish Pandey, who is the son of an ex-BSP parliamentarian Rakesh Pandey is in the headlines of late for a wrong reason. He was seen taking out a gun and frightening a woman at the 5-star hotel’s entrance in the national capital. A 10-sec video clip was widespread all over social media.
The terrifying incident happened outside Hyatt Regency hotel on Sunday morning after the woman allegedly disapproved of Pandey walking into the women’s washroom, according to the police. As per the sources, Pandey went to his car after the quarrel and then pulled out the gun before frightening her.
The video also depicts another woman known to be Pandey’s friend and a security guard attempting to hold Pandey back and calm him down. As you can see in the video, it comes to a close with Pandey being dragged away by the hotel staff.
A man who was with the woman told a news channel that the accused, who pulled out the gun, walked up to him and then threatened and abused him as reported PTI. “I was intimidated and scared. The hotel staff were present at the spot. They tried to intervene but could not as they were also scared,” the victim claimed.
On the other hand, the woman accompanying the accused allegedly abused the victims and then them “transgender”, a senior officer aware of the investigation said, adding it is doubted both the parties involved in the act were drunk at the time of the incident, according to PTI
The hotel issued a statement stressing the fact that the safety and security of the guests was the main concern. “We take the incident seriously and have been working with the local police authorities on the same,” the statement said.
On coming to know about the incident, Union minister of state for home Kiren Rijuju tweeted; “Delhi Police has initiated action on this incident which is also being shown in the media. FIR has been registered under Arms Act and IPC. Strong and appropriate action will be taken. Also verifying the identity of others.”
