India might not have had their great outing against England quite recently as they lost the Test series 1-4. But after returning home, they made sure what has to be done to strengthen their No.1 spot in the ICC Test rankings. They are tasked with home assignments against Windies.
However, India clinched the opening Rajkot Test in a sensational fashion by beating Windies within three days itself, thereby recording their biggest ever win in Test cricket history. India won by an innings and 272 runs to lead the two-match Test series 1-0.
Almost every player stepped up and performed well. The collective rhythm clicked together with perfection which was just enough to end the match as soon as possible. India posted a mammoth 649/9 (dec) in the first innings with centuries from Prithvi Shaw, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja respectively.
On the contrary, Windies were bowled out for 181 in the first innings. India enforced a follow-on and Windies batted once again. But they managed to score just 196 runs and failed to go beyond that.
