Ever since ‘Swach Bharat Abhiyan’ was launched in 2014, every state has been making every possible attempt to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of cities of India. This UP officer has done something great which others should take note of.
In an attempt to spread awareness on cleanliness, UP Minister, identified as Shachindra Pratap Singh alone picked up the broom and started cleaning his own office and roads. He did not pay much heed to his personal discomfort as he happily carried on the work until he’s done.

After seeing this, people on social media heaped praises on the minister for his good work. Shachindra Pratap Singh is the Regional Service Manager (Roadways) of Agra. He said that he kick-started his mission to clean Agra, the day he was recruited as the service manager there.
“This way, my journey of cleanliness left the office and was expanded from workshops, buses, bus depots to various districts of Uttar Pradesh. It is an ever-expanding mission,” he told Navbharat Times.
Pratap Singh has been very specific about cleanliness. He took his good work to another step in intensity by starting a Facebook group to get like-minded people in the Agra to join him in his cleanliness mission.
According to him, cleanliness must not start with “commissioned cleaners and shouldn’t stop with authority”. Pratap Singh also runs a special workshop in the bus depots under his control, so that drivers, conductors and officials take the duty a bit more seriously to keep their premises very neat and clean.
