Dutee Chand made a real case for herself as one of the viable women athletes as she claimed a silver medal in the final of the Women’s 100m Athletics event. She ran at a great pace and maintained the flow till the end as she clocked 11:32 seconds.
Impressed by Chand’s achievement at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a staggering cash reward of Rs. 1.5 crore.
She missed the gold medal by a small margin as she passed the finishing line just behind the gold medalist Edidiong Odiong hailing from Bahrain who clocked at 11:30 seconds.
Earlier, Odisha Chief Minister showered praise on the sprinter for making India proud at the prestigious tournament.
