With sheer tenacity, intensity, our Indian women’s hockey team made the country proud as they trounced China 1-0 to sail into the finals of the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games, being held at Jakarta, Indonesia.
What a way to outsmart China to storm into the finals! India is now assured of a silver medal and it will be quite interesting to see how they approach the decisive final game against the tough opponent Japan who comprehensively beat the five-time champions South Korea 2-0 in the other semi-final battle.
Gurjit Kaur was the pick of the players as she scored a crucial goal in the 39th minute of the virtual semi-final clash against China. Her killer instinct came at the right time to steer the team into the finals after 20 years. Let’s appreciate our girls for their terrific performance.
