It is nice to see celebrities stepping forward to contribute to the flood-hit Kerala victims. This time, it was Sunny Leone’s turn to donate 1200 Kg of food to the sufferers of the calamity. On Friday, the 37-year-old Sunny Leone shared an Instagram post, wherein she mentioned that she and her husband Daniel Weber have donated over 1,200 kg of food for the unfortunate ones in Kerala.
Sunny’s caption read, “Today Daniel and I will hopefully be able to feed a few of the many people in Kerala that need a warm meal with 1,200 kg (1.3 tons) of rice and daal. I know it’s not a dent in what actually needs to be sent and I wish I could do more.”
In her Insta post, Sunny Leone thanked Prateik Babbar and Siddhant Kapoor for stepping forward and organising a fundraiser for Kerala. She wrote: “Humanity at its finest, Prateik Babbar and Siddhanth Kapoor, the men who arranged an amazing event at B in Juhu to bring help n need. You guys are so amazing.”
Many other celebrities have done their part to assist the people in flood-hit Kerala, while the Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan donated Rs. 51 lakhs and his six cartons of his personal clothing including 80 jackets, 25 pants, 20 shirts and lots of scarves.
The actor has also donated around 40 pairs of shoes to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The actor Randeep Hooda was seen helping at the Khalsa Aid team in Kerala. Apart from that, Sushant Singh Rajput also donated Rs. 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on behalf of an Instagram follower.
Resul Pookutty who has films – Slumdog Millionaire, 2.0, Ra. One, PK and Kochadaiiyaan to his credit, thanked Bollywood starts for stepping forward to help the victims of the calamity. “The biggest challenge is counselling people who lost everything back to normalcy, for three people have already died of the distress trauma. A big thank you to Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vidya Balan, Abhishek Bachchan, Sushant Singh Rajput, Rishi Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor,” he tweeted.
