The sun of Indian politics finally sets. An entire era comes to a close with the sad demise of the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. A leader with no enemies and we lost a great son of the motherland.
The highly-respected leader not only made India a nuclear power but also gave the country Swarnim Chaturbhuj (Golden Quadrilateral), that connected four capitals (Delhi Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai) together. His name will go deep down in history and he shall be remembered for Millennia.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee served as the Prime Minister of India for three times, first for a term of 13 days in the year 1996 and for a period of 11 months from 1998 to 1999, and then he extended his contributions from 1998 to 2004.
He was a prominent member of the Indian Parliament for over 4 decades, being elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house, ten times, and twice to the Rajya Sabha, the upper house. He served as the Member of Parliament for Lucknow, UP until 2009 when he called it quits from politics owing to health concerns.
Mr. Vajpayee was conferred India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna, by the President of India in 2014. It was officially declared by the Modi government in 2014 that Vajpayee’s birthday on December 25 would be remembered as Good Governance Day.
Even the UPA government admitted that his policies helped the UPA-1 regime to grow India at a high pace. Finally, the tallest leader of this epoch bids a farewell. Rest In Peace.
Here is how Twitter reacted:

It was due to the perseverance and struggles of Atal Ji that the BJP was built brick by brick. He travelled across the length and breadth of India to spread the BJP's message, which led to the BJP becoming a strong force in our national polity and in several states.

Dr Manmohan Singh called him the Bhishm Pitama of Indian politics…his friends say the bharat Ratna to Vajpayee was an honour to the award itself…but for his legions of fans and admirers it is his inimtables style, his poetries and his writings, that immortalise him #RIPVajpayee
