Sometimes, you need better tactics to pull off the ropes from the jaws of the defeat. Anything is possible in the roller-coaster ride of 90-min football game.
Our Indian players proved that they are worth the weight in gold as they beat Argentina 2-1 in the COTIF Cup 2018 finals. Argentina are the most successful team in FIFA U20 World Cup history as they won 6 times but the 10-men Indian team showed sheer brilliance on the pitch and deserved to steal the spotlight for the way they played. What a proud moment for India!
India took the lead in the 4th minute of the game, thanks to Deepak Tangri’s header. Unfortunately, Aniket got a red card and was sent off in the 54th minute. Even with 10 men, India managed to display a massive courage as Anwar Ali scored a goal to make 2-0. Argentina players tried their best to put one in the 72nd minute and the rest is history.
To be able to get the better of the best team is such an unbelievable feeling that cannot be put it in words. Most people thought that Argentina would easily rip through the defences of the Indian team but on ground level, it was a different story altogether.
The end result was something extraordinary that only Indians can be really proud of. This is a guaranteed sign that India’s sporting future is in safe hands.
