Why do accidents occur? Is it due to carelessness? Yes, it is. A study found that ‘careless attitude’ is the major cause of accidents. Some accidents can be terrifying. It can happen to anybody at any place or at any time if not careful at the time of driving. The best way to prevent such accidents is to take as many precautions as possible.
In a recent incident, a biker hit a priest who was walking on the zebra-crossing. The police release the CCTV footage and asks the motorists to respect pedestrian rights. To be frank, when the driver approaches near zebra crossing (road painted with broad white stripes, where vehicles must stop if pedestrians wish to cross) he/she should decelerate and look at both sides as priority goes to the pedestrian. The biker should be careful and he must give way and stop his vehicle.
Even the traffic rule says motorists must slow down at zebra crossings to allow pedestrians to cross the road. Watch the video below.
