Why exactly do we need ministers? Why do we vote for leaders who will represent the people of our country? Well, a simple answer to this is because we need peace around us, we need someone who can administer the state or country and help in keeping it crime free.
How exactly is a region supposed to remain crime free and safe for people if the person who is in-charge of it has some alleged serious charges against him? In this case, we are referring to Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Yogi is known for his provocative speeches and reportedly also has criminal charges against him on the basis on which he can be sent to life imprisonment.
Here are some of the alleged charges on the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh:
- Charges related to Attempt to murder.
- 1 case related to criminal intimidation.
- 1 case related to Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace.
- 1 case related to Act endangering life or personal safety of others.
- 2 cases related to Trespassing on burial places, etc.
- 2 cases related to Rioting, armed with deadly weapon.
- 3 cases related to Punishment for Rioting.
- 2 cases related to Promoting enmity.
- 2 cases related to Injuring place of worship.
- 1 case related to Mischief by destroying or moving.
Majority of these charges are based on his involvement during the Gorakhpur riots. Here’s one of the incidents that prove how he was a part of the riots because of which he was arrested and was also remanded for a fortnight.
A Hindu boy was killed after some people opened fire during Muharram in 2007. When the youth succumbed to the injuries, Adityanath vowed to deliver justice to the Hindus. Following his announcement, which led to the Gorakhpur riots, he was arrested and remanded for a fortnight, on the charges of disturbing peace. He was jailed under Section 151A, Sections 146, 147, 279, 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
Uttar Pradesh is a sensitive area when it comes to communal tension and the place is governed by Yogi Adityanath currently. We would love to know what the youth of the country has to say about the state’s situation. Share your thoughts with us in the comment section!
However the other side of Yogi Adityanath is rather adorable. He is popularly known as “Saffron Socialist”- the term reflects on his character. He has no charges of corruption even after 2 decades of holding a prestigious position in Uttar Pradesh government. Though he is the CM of 200 million people in India, yet his family members still lead an ordinary life in the village he was born. His elder sister sells flowers at a shop near a temple to obtain her livelihood.
