Bride’s Father forced Groom to shave his beard by threatening to cancel the marriage

India is probably the only country on earth where you experience mammoth diversity of culture. There are apparently more ways of marriages than the entire population of many a country in the world. Friends and relatives are invited to experience their time with bride and groom. Attendees offer them gifts and have a chance to enjoy food for free.

Every father wishes his daughter to marry the best person in the world. Some fathers, perhaps, have more expectations from the groom than their daughters do. They even have a picture in their mind that the groom should be healthy, rich, handsome, fit etc.

But this is the story of a father who doesn’t want a groom who keeps a beard and Mustache on face- in easy words- he wanted a clean shaved groom for his daughter.

In Khandawa district of Madhya Pradesh, father of a bride nearly cancelled a wedding because the groom sported a beard on his face. The groom, Mangal Chauhan, happened to be a fan of cricketer Virat Kohli. He reached the wedding venue in Anjati Village on horseback with hundreds of other Baratis (People from the groom side, who participate in the marriage function), expecting a peaceful wedding ceremony. Inspired by Kohli, the groom had kept a beard on the wedding day as he wanted to look as handsome as Kohli did on his wedding day.

However, this did not go down too well with the father of the bride, when he saw the groom’s face covered a thick beard. Mahesh had arrived wearing expensive suits to look better. Everything was in order. But only his beard posed the catastrophic problem to the function.

While Baratis were watching the wrestling as onlookers, both sides engaged in heating arguments for several hours in the village. Eventually, the groom side had to give in as the bride side threatened them with cancelling the marriage. But a doleful and upset Mahesh insisted that he would keep the mustache at any cost.

Meanwhile, Mahesh put forward a very strong argument that if national icon Virat Kohli had married Bollywood star Anushka, why couldn’t he? But his argument did not work with the furious father.
