Off late, there have been many cases of hindu girls marrying muslim boys, wherein the hindu advocacy groups have alleged, that it is nothing else but ‘Love Jihad’. They claim this is not normal, it’s being funded by certain islamic countries, and there is a larger conspiracy behind such interfaith relationships., since they are happening on a very large scale, which raises doubts. What provides substance to their claims, are cases like that of Akhila Ashokan of Kerala, who married Shafin Jahan in December 2016, and became ‘Hadiya’ as she converted to islam.
Akhila’s father K M Ashokan a retired army man, had reached Kerala High Court, saying that his daughter was trapped with a ‘plan’. High Court decided in his favour, calling the marriage, a ‘sham’. However, Shafin has appealed in Supreme Court, where Congress leader and lawyer Kapil Sibal is fighting his case. The Supreme Court has asked National Investigation Agency (NIA) to investigate the matter. Kapil Sibal argued that since Akhila is an adult, her consent matters.
However, central government has said that in cases of indoctrination, will of parents can overrule such consent. Various hindu rights organizations have said that since SIbal is a senior lawyer, who charges a hefty amount as fees, and Shafin is not from a rich family background, hence it is suspicious as to who is paying the amount. It is also notable, that Kerala along with states like Maharashtra and Telangana has been a major recruiting ground for ISIS in India.
In this context, here is a video going viral on social media, in which some people are questioning a Muslim boy, who was in a relationship with a Hindu girl. He is answering them in detail, and most importantly, doesn’t look intimidated or in fear of the people who’re asking questions. In fact, he takes promise of holy Quran that he is speaking the truth. He can be clearly heard saying that he gets rupees 50 thousand for ‘patana’ (courting), and 5 lakhs for marrying a hindu girl.
He says that he was to receive the reward money from his ‘Masjid’ (mosque), and after the marriage he would force the girl to have maximum kids. The boy says that he intended to leave the girl, after doing so. The Youth appeals to share this video, as much as you can, so that it reaches government investigating agencies and they can probe the issue of ‘Love Jihad’ and find out the truth.
