And there isn’t any better way other than yoga in establishing a connection between the body and the mind. Yoga is regarded as one of the best therapies to all the problems in the world. It is the one which gives peace to our ever-buzzing brains, a better body with a lot of resistance power and gives us sanity in today’s hectic world.
To symbolize such an important aspect, we commemorate 21st June as “International Yoga Day” all over the world. On this day, people generally gather together and attend yoga camps which include stretching into various yoga poses at unusual and scenic locations. Themed as “Yoga for Health”, this year’s celebrations were fantastic.
Kicking off the celebrations, PM Narendra Modi was seen participating in one of the events held in the city of Lucknow. He performed many yogic postures.
Making it to the top of the list was the event organized by the Yoga Guru Ramdev Baba himself at GMDC Ground in Ahmedabad, where he was accompanied with 54,522 other people. They made it to the “Guinness Book of World Records” by beating the earlier record by a margin of over 18,000. They performed various asanas which were viewed spectacularly.
As the day happened, there were these “superheroes” marking their way to the top. There were ITBP Jawans doing Yoga at nearly 18,000 feet in an unparalleled paradise of Ladakh at an unimaginable temperature of -25 degrees Celsius.
To make it to the list, the Indian Armed Forces personnel also has taken part in a yoga session held on the naval aircraft carrier INS Viraat, anchored in Mumbai. Around 10,000 personnel took part in the events enthusiastically which were organized by the armed forces.There were various sites on the western coast where such camps were set up.
The view was so beautiful that one couldn’t resist themselves joining their hands in yoga. Here’s a glance to some more fantastic captures.
Making it a day worth remembering, people from all over the world joined their hands to mark the day’s importance. As many as 130 countries including Singapore, The States, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia and Japan celebrated this day with enthusiasm filled within.
