Security guard in nights and student in days – Nitish Kumar Mahato cleared Class 10th with 87.60%

He studied in midnight lantern to remind himself his goals

We all know “Passion has no boundaries”.

Here is a strong example of this phrase, who is Nitish Kumar Mahato, a student of Ranchi’s reputed St John’s school, who is a student by day and a security guard by night.

A young fellow from Jharkand, who lost his father who was a security guard in Shantiniketan Apartments when he stepped into class 10

th, started working as a security guard in same apartment for the survival of his family. He had the zeal to study and never wanted his studies to get affected because of his work, because of which he decided to work in night shifts as a security guard in a residential apartment of Shantiniketan Apartment in Morhabadi locality, so that he can give time to his studies in day.

He used to keep his books all the time with him and studied in midnight lantern which made him realize his dream of becoming an engineer. At last he got the result what he paid for, he scored 87.60% in the Jharkhand Class 10th Board results.

This 16 years old boy, is standing at the 6th highest rank among the few hundred in state to cross the figure of 85%. A couple of flat residents of Shantiniketan Apartment have proposed to assist him in his further studies, as this young lad is a motivation for all children in Shantiniketan.

Mr. Rajendra Tiwari, one of the residents of same apartments, who has been assisting the boy in the past has assured that he would never let Nitish drop out of school due to any financial constraints. Wow sir, we need more men like you in society! But, now Nitish doesn’t only require money, but proper guidance and coaching to crack IIT too.

Abhishek Sharma, a UK- based surgeon, offered help to Nitish. Also, AJSU leader Suboth Prasad offered Nitish 2 choices- either to join Silli Polytechnic College (a college in his hometown- Silli) or take tuitions/ coaching for IIT entrance examination, where he preferred for IIT coaching and further studies for engineering.

He has seen a very painful life, beyond which he never lost faith in himself
