Asian Games: India wins silver medal in women’s hockey team

Hearty Congratulations to the women’s hockey team on winning the silver medal. Well, it was 20 years after India sailed into the finals as they beat China 1-0 in the semis and they were already assured of a silver medal.

When they locked horns with Japan in the finals, Japan was by far the best team tactically and strategically as they beat India 1-2 to clinch the gold medal in the final of the Asian Games 2018 which is being staged at Jakarta and Palembang.

Though Japan took a leap in the first quarter of an hour, India bounced back into the game in the second quarter with a terrific equaliser from Navneet. However, Japan’s Motomi Kawamura chipped in with a winning goal as they didn’t give any snippet of breathing space for India to come back into the game and India settled for silver.
