India’s daughter conquers the world in Gymnastics, she grabs gold medal in World Cup

Ace gymnast Dipa Karmakar hogged the limelight for becoming the first gymnast of India to clinch a gold medal at a global event. Following a two-year-long break owing to a knee injury, Dipa Karmakar stunned everyone with her staggering ‘14.150 score’ at the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup in Turkey’s on Sunday.

The 24-year-old from Tripura deserves a ‘certificate of excellence’ for her massive improvement. She must be really proud of her achievement as she made the entire nation proud. When she finished 4th at the Rio Olympics in 2016, she always dreamt of doing better than ever before.

After her fantastic achievement, the whole nation praised her. She took to her official Twitter handle to write, “This medal is for everyone who never stopped believing in me! Thank you @Media_SAI, Gymnastic Federation of India, Anant Joshi Sir, @GoSportsVoices, my physio Sajad bhai, Tripura Govt, Nandi sir and @merakiconnect for the endless support and encouragement.”

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi congratulated Dipa Karmakar for her efforts and wrote on Twitter, “India is proud of @DipaKarmakar! Congratulations to her on winning a well-deserved Gold in the vault event at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Mersin, Turkey. This win is a prime example of her tenacity and never-say-die attitude.”

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan said, “Congratulations to @DipaKarmakar. She has won Gold in the World Championships for gymnastics on the Vault. you proved to the World that what was wrongly denied to you in the Olympics, you won it here . Proud of you . we are proud Indians because of you”.
