Sunil Dutt and Rajendra Kumar were not just good friends but also a part of each other’s families. Rajendra’s son Kumar Gaurav married Sunil Dutt’s daughter Namrata and decided to convert their friendship into a relationship that’ll live forever.
This incident is from the time when Sunil was extremely stressed about Sanjay’s involvement with the underworld and the cases that were against him. The verdicts against his son were eating him from within and he was trying everything he could to protect Sanjay from all the trouble.
Despite being a popular minister of the Congress, no political connection could help Sanjay get out of this serious trouble. Sunil used all his contacts in Del hi and but absolutely no one could help him save his son.
An upset Sunil returned back to Mumbai and had lost all hopes to save Sanjay from all the complexed situation he had gotten himself into when Rajendra Kumar suggested him something that changed Sanjay’s fate.
Rajendra suggested Sunil to meet Shiv Sena Supremo Bala Saheb Thackeray, on which Sunil initially lost his cool and almost raised his voice on Rajendra. Rajendra asked Sunil to think about this with a calm mind and reminded him of the time when Bala Saheb Thackrey helped Amitabh Bachchan with his movie ‘Shehensha’ and the ban that was on it.
Sunil finally agreed on meeting Bala Saheb with Rajendra and the two reached his residence in Dadar. Bala Saheb looked at Sunil and mentioned how he knew that Sunil wasn’t very fond of him and despite this Bala Saheb once used to be a big fan of him. Sunil was in tears after this statement and broke down in front of Bala Saheb, explaining to him the entire situation.
Bala Saheb agreed to help him and took Sanjay to a different room and thrashed him for being this irresponsible. He also asked Sanjay to listen to his father and not be a naive man by listening to others around him and get influenced by them.
Sanjay Dutt promised Bala Saheb how he would abstain from such people and that’s how he managed to get out of trouble.
Such was the power of Bala Saheb Thackrey who helped Sunil Dutt when the entire nation couldn’t help him despite his stardom.
