In a disastrous news, a notorious man in Assam was arrested on the charges of raping his own minor daughter and killing his wife in front of the public. This act is deemed contrary to the spirit of human values. The accused who is identified as Purna Nahar Deka, was to be produced before Dibrugarh district and Sessions court on the charges of raping his daughter.
The husband and wife were sitting on a bench outside a courtroom and things got heated up when the accused started beating his own wife. In the process, he then cut his wife’s throat with an incisive weapon. As per the reports, the accused started attacking his wife around 10:30 am inside the court premises on Friday.
Dibrugarh Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradip Saikia confirmed the incident to media reporters that the accused cut his wife’s throat with a sharp weapon when both of them were sitting on a bench outside the courtroom.
The accused said that he murdered his wife because she had wrongly accused him of raping their minor daughter. “I am innocent… She filed a false case against me involving my daughter. She did not even allow me to come home after I was released on bail. So I killed her today,” said the accused.
Police officials stated that the wife had lodged a complaint against the husband some 9 months back, accusing him of raping her. Dibrugarh Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sidheswar Borah said, “We rushed her to the Assam Medical College in Dibrugarh but the doctors declared her brought dead. We have arrested the man.”
According to the police officials, the husband communicated with his wife moments before he started assaulting her, which could give us a hint that he killed her in may lead us to believe that he killed her in extreme anger following an argument.
