Son of Bus Driver becomes overall Government School topper, secures 97%

“There is no secret, you just have to work hard and be consistent throughout the year. I never counted the number of hours I studied. My teachers and parents have been really helpful. They never pressurised me,” Meghana Srivastava, CBSE All India Class 12 topper told after the results that were declared on Saturday.

Another magnificent feat that was recently achieved by Prince Kumar who is the son of a bus driver. He didn’t allow his family problems to come across his dreams and aspirations. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Prince Kumar defied all odds to top the Science stream in overall Delhi Government schools as he chipped in with a staggering 97%, scoring 485/500.

Prince Kumar’s marks speak huge volumes as he scored 100/100 in mathematics, 99/100 economics, and 98/100 in chemistry. He is in the spotlight ever since he essayed an impressive performance. Even Delhi’s deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia, felicitated him and said it was a “very proud moment” for him. He took to his official Twitter handle to congratulate Prince Kumar.

Prince Kumar can breathe a sigh of relief as all his hard work paid off. The overall government school topper in Delhi said he still couldn’t believe his eyes after seeing the result. “I am the son of a DTC bus driver. I never expected this… Now I have media people calling me,” he was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

According to Prince Kumar, the government schools has changed its approach over the years which helped him to secure the top-notch score. Hard work, determination and perseverance can steer you to touch the pinnacle of success. The teachers have been very helpful to him. “The kids at these schools may come from a particular socio-economic background.

But our teachers and facilities are almost as good as private schools. All teachers are well qualified, and they help us out,” said the student of the Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya in Dwarka’s Sector 10. Prince now aims to pursue an electronics and communications engineering degree and has successfully cleared his JEE (Mains).
