5-year-old girl creates two records in Archery, proves age is just a number

Young talents are one of the best things to have ever graced the world. Be it sports or academics, they have always shown their interest to the fullest in a bid to get the desired result. A 5-year-old Archery girl named Cherukuri Dolly Shivani proved that age is just a number by setting two iconic records in archery.

Hailing from Vijayawada, the talented kid Shivani relished the feat what others can only dream of. With the fire in her belly, she has gone places at such a very young age. This is truly amazing as she has already set herself as a great source of inspiration for the other kids to follow.

Shivani won the hearts of countless Indians by taking another step in intensity. If she could carry on the same impetus, it is very much certain that she would go on to win accolades in her career. She even entered the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records last year.

Standing at a fair distance of 10 metres, Shivani shot as many as 103 arrows in 11 minutes and 19 seconds. After a break of 30 minutes, she drew 36 arrows from 20 metres which took five minutes and 8 seconds. Out of 360 points, Shivani was able to pull off a mesmerising 290.

Her impressive record even caught the attention of current Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu who appreciated her efforts on Twitter. His caption read, “Commend Baby Dolly Shivani Cherukuri for firing 103 arrows at a target 10 feet away in just 11 minutes, setting India, Asia Book of Records.”

Shivani’s proud father, Cherukuri Satyanarayana was quoted as saying by The Hindu, “Shivani will be 13 when the 2024 Olympics will be held. Our target is to prepare her for the Olympics and we need a top class coach to teach her the advanced techniques. I want Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to take note of the request and do the needful.”

“It is a big challenge to her considering her tiny hands and supple shoulders. She hit 15 shots at 9 and twice she hit 10 points. This signifies the concentration level of the young kid,” Sharan Kumar, an official from the Archery Association of India was quoted as saying by The Hindu.
